Berkley American Legion Post 374 Honors Many Years of  Service

Berkley, MI – April 12, 2022 – The Berkley American Legion Post 374 is proud to honor 3 members that have served the post and the community collectively for 170 years. These long-serving members of Post 374 were honored at the post membership meeting on April 12th.

The honorees include Michael Mercer, a US Army veteran and past Commander 89-90, who has served the post for 50 Years, and Merrill “Bud” Collins, a US Air Force veteran, who served as a refueling boom operator on a KC-97 tanker. Bud has been with the post for 50 Years and William “Bill” Gleason served in both the US Navy and the US Army working in intelligence operations. Bill has served the post for 70 Years.

The awards were presented at the membership meeting that was held in Gleason Hall which is named for all the dedicated members of the Gleason Family that have served the post.
