Children’s Program

Reading Challenge

Visit the children’s reference desk to sign up for the reading challenge and receive your reading log, then keep track of each day you spend time reading and stop in for a prize after 17, 34, & 51 days!

If you read for at least 51 days, you’ll be entered into the grand prize drawing. This year, we have several grand prize options on display in the display case near the children’s room. Each prize will have its own raffle, so you can choose what you’d like a chance to win.

Registration and logging begin Monday, June 19.

For Parents: Baby Sign Workshop

Monday, July 17, 6:30pm
Babies communicate with their facial expressions, voices, and bodies.
When we treat babies’ body language as communication and try to figure out what they’re telling us, it’s easier for us to meet babies’ needs, get to know our babies better, feel closer to them, and start two-way conversation even before they can talk.
Learn how you can model, encourage, and respond to babies’ body language by using gestures and baby signs as you talk with children in everyday interactions.
