STORM WEATHER PSA: Flood Watch until Thursday (2/17) afternoon followed by a Winter Storm Watch
FLOOD WATCH & WINTER STORM WATCH PSA:
Our Public Works would like to share the latest National Weather Service alerts for our region:
- Flood Watch in effect until February 17, 04:00 PM EST
- Hazardous Weather Outlook
- Wind Advisory in effect from February 16, 11:00 AM EST until February 16, 08:00 PM EST
- Winter Storm Watch in effect from February 17, 10:00 AM EST until February 18, 01:00 AM EST
The warm front will lift across the area bringing mild temperatures and gusty winds. From what we can see there will not be massive quantities of rain but runoff will add up given the warmer temperature. The combination of rain and snowmelt will bring the risk of flooding, especially in low-lying and flood-prone areas.
The Flood Watch is until tomorrow afternoon followed by a Winter Storm Watch. Snowfall totals are still variable with most areas settling on 4"-8" by Friday morning.
The City will continue to monitor the forecast of the storm. We also ask residents to be "weather alert" over the next few days.
