Public Safety Release: Stranger Danger

Berkley, MI –March 22, 2023 - On March 22, 2023, a Berkley resident reported a “Stranger Danger” incident. The victim, a student, reported that she was walking home from school around 5:00 pm in the area of Sunnyknoll and Kipling in Berkley,
when a subject approached her, grabbing ahold of her backpack. She stated she was in fear and kicked the subject, who then left the area.

The suspect is described as a pale-skinned White Male, Approximately 6’5”, medium build. The victim stated he was wearing a Black Hooded Sweatshirt with the hood drawn up around his face, Black Beanie Cap, a Black “Covid” mask, Black North Face Jacket, Blue jeans with “rips” near the thighs, and Tan Work Boots.

The suspect got into a White Work van, Similar in description to a White Chevy Cargo Van, with a ladder and PVC Pipe on top. The vehicle had some rust, but not other markings. The vehicle was last seen South on Kipling from Sunnyknoll.
