About the Historical Museum
The Berkley Historical Museum is located in the old Fire Hall at City Hall at 3338 Coolidge Highway. The original Fire Hall was dedicated on March 10, 1928, and received designation as a Historic Site from the State of Michigan in 1988.

The museum was established in 1993 and is administered by the Berkley Historical Committee. The museum displays memorabilia from the city archives and items contributed by local residents. Every year at Christmas, the museum features a holiday-themed display.

Berkley Street Sign Souvenirs Now Available!

Historical Museum_Street Signs Post
The City of Berkley has been replacing all of the City's street signs. The old street signs will be sold by the Berkley Historical Committee as a fundraiser. The funds will be used to have the old Fire Station, which was built to be the Village of Berkley's Village Hall in 1928, placed on the Michigan Register of Historic Sites and to purchase an official green and gold historic marker. This is part of the Museum's plans to celebrate the upcoming 100th anniversary in 2023 of Berkley becoming a village.

Signs are available on a first-come basis.

How Much Do The Signs Cost?
The street signs are $20 each with exceptions for Woodward, 12 Mile, Coolidge, and Catalpa ($40 each). We will be accepting cash and checks ONLY. Checks must be made out to The Berkley Historical Committee.
