Communications

A division of the City Manager's office, Communications provides information to entertain, inform and educate residents about our community and city government services, policies, goals and objectives.WBRK Anniversary Logo

WBRK 53/10 Municipal Cable TV

If you are a city resident and you subscribe to either Wide Open West or Comcast, you have viewing access to WBRK Channel 53/10.

WBRK carries programming 24 hours a day, every day.  Cablecasts include a series of monthly presentations featuring:

  • Municipal departments
  • City Council and Planning Commission Meetings (live and taped presentations)
  • Replays of major events
  • A bulletin board of upcoming events and activities
  • Special programs

Meet Your Communication Coordinator:

Nancy, a Berkley resident, has worked in Communications for the City of Berkley since 1988. Nancy is a graduate of Central Michigan University with a degree in Broadcasting and Cinematic Arts.  Some of the programs produced for WBRK are City Council and Planning Commission Meetings, Cruisefest, City Clips and Minding our own Business.

Nancy has received numerous Accessibility Awards competing with 11 cities in our Cable TV consortium. She also received a Philo Award, a regional competition. Nancy has overseen the Berkley City Calendar and Berkley Connection since 1989. Nancy serves on the Board of Directors for Community Media Network.

City Council Meetings are captured live every 1st and 3rd Monday of the month. Find out what decisions are being made in your community.

Planning Commission Meetings
Join us the fourth Tuesday of every month as we cablecast live the projects of development in Berkley

Outside Programming
WBRK also provides programming from our legislature to keep you informed on what they are doing.

Berkley’s Cruisefest
Catch our parade of vintage cars as they cruise down 12 Mile Road. Every August, we cablecast the parade of 300 cars to our viewers.

 
 

Volunteer Opportunities:

LIGHTS! CAMERA! ACTION!
Have you ever heard those words and wanted to be a part of a video production? Well, you can!! How? Join the City of Berkley’s Cable Crew.

WBRK - Channel 53/10 is looking for volunteers to produce their own productions! Learn how to produce, direct, and to be a camera operator. The benefits of learning television production are to explore your creative talents and have your programs aired. WBRK has been in existence for nearly 20 years and has produced many productions related to the City of Berkley.
