Signs
Sign Quick Facts:

Real Estate Signs.
Berkley City Code allows
residents to have one 6 square foot sign on their
properties while the property is for sale. For
Sale or Open House signs placed on other properties
are NOT permitted.

Garage Sale Signs.
Berkley
City Code allows residents to have two signs
no more than 4 square
feet a piece on their properties during the
garage sale. Garage sale signs placed on
other properties
are NOT permitted.

Political Signs.
Signs
pertaining to candidates and ballot questions
must be placed on private
property. For residential properties,
the signs may not exceed 6 square feet.
The signs
must
be removed within 10 days following the
election to which they pertain.
- Business
Signs.
Permanent signs over 6 square
feet in size require a permit in
the City of
Berkley. An application
and two sets of plans must be submitted
for review. The plans must clearly
indicate what the sign
will look like and how it will be
installed. An application and plans must be reviewed
and approved by the City Planner
and
Building Official
prior to the issuance of a permit.
Most applications are approved within a week.
The fee for a sign
permit is $65 plus a $50 bond. The bond is returned once the sign is installed and inspected.
