How As Business Owners Can You Be a Leader in Our Community and Protect Your Employees and Customers?
Importance of Face Coverings
As we all know, Coronavirus has quickly spread all over the world, United States, and Michigan. While this disease is mild for most, it can cause severe illness and result in death for some. We also know that a significant portion of individuals with COVID-19 lack symptoms and some even transmit the virus to others before even showing symptoms.
What does this mean?
The virus can easily spread between people interacting in close proximity – including those speaking, coughing, or sneezing - even if no symptoms are present.
What can you as a business can do to help prevent the spread of COVID-19?
Have all employees wear face coverings the proper way at all times, especially in areas of significant community-based transmission.
While it’s critical to emphasize that maintaining 6-feet social distance is important to slow the spread, it’s equally as important to emphasize face coverings also help to slow the spread and help people who may have the virus and not know it from transmitting it to others.
These safety precautions are backed by Executive Order 2020-114, the recommended safety precautions by the CDC, and are strongly encouraged by the City of Berkley and all City Departments. For now, face coverings are the new normal and our Downtown Berkley patrons will expect our entire business community to wear them.
For Berkley businesses impacted by COVID-19, we have compiled a list of resources that might be helpful to you as you navigate this crisis:
