The CruiseFest Planning Committee, city officials and volunteers are nearing the finish line, putting the final touches on Berkley’s 22st Annual Classic Car Parade that will be held on Friday, August 18th on 12 Mile between Woodward and Greenfield.  About 400 classic car owners will participate in the parade.

Parade Grand Marshals
WXYZ personality Glenda Lewis and Daniel Smith, DTE Marketing Analyst, will serve as parade Grand Marshals. Come out and see them both in the Classic Car Parade that begins at 6:30PM.

Street Closures

  • Twelve Mile, from Woodward to Greenfield, will be closed from 6PM on August 18 until the parade ends at approximately 8PM. 
  • After the parade, 12 Mile will be closed from Coolidge to Buckingham until 12 midnight.
  • Stanford is closed from Harvard to Oxford for the entire Dream Cruise weekend 

Parking Restrictions 
No parking on 12 Mile, between Woodward and Greenfield, starting at 6AM on Friday, August 18 until 6AM on Saturday, August 19.

Residents are asked to comply with established parking ordinances and other restrictions posted on residential streets to allow safe passage for emergency vehicles.

Parking permits will not be issued for residential streets within the boundaries of Woodward and Coolidge from 11 Mile to 12 Mile. This will remain in effect until 6AM on Sunday, August 20. Contact the Public Safety Department at (248) 658-3380 if you have questions regarding these restrictions.

Beginning the afternoon of Thursday, August 17, Harvard Road will be temporarily closed to traffic at Woodward until the morning of Monday, August 21. In the interim, traffic flow on Harvard, between Woodward and Cass, will be temporarily reversed from westbound only to eastbound only.

In addition, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office has put temporary traffic restrictions in place along Woodward during the Dream Cruise on Saturday, August 19. From 9AM – 9PM, commercial vehicles, vehicles with trailers and vehicles weighing over 10,000 pounds, are prohibited from driving on Woodward from 8 Mile to the Loop in Pontiac.

CruiseFest Schedule of Events
The planning committee, co-chaired by resident volunteer Mark Coon and Parks & Recreation Director Theresa McArleton, is focused on executing the family friendly event that will be full of fun, live music and other features for the young and young at heart! The August 18 CruiseFest schedule is below:

  • DTE Energy Booth: games and prizes! Griffith, south of 12 Mile
  • Kid’s Inflatable Zone: 12 Mile and Tyler
  • Food Court: Robina, south of 12 Mile & Downtown Business District
