Berkley Sewer Lining Program

The City has been lining the sewer system in order to maintain its structural integrity, as well as, extend the service life of the pipe network. In January 2019, City Council awarded a five-year bid contract to LiquiForce/Granite to perform this work. Currently, the contractor has completed phase one of the project which included sewer inspection, cleaning, and measurement intake for the placement of pipe lining.

The contractor's next phase will include the installation of the new pipe lining based on the sewer inspection which was conducted in February/March 2020. Prior to any pipe lining, residents in the affected area will receive written notices from Liquiforce/Granite advising them of any necessary steps needed by the resident/homeowner.

Project Scope and Overview
Pipe candidates for lining are determined each year based on rating criteria from the regular sewer inspections. This year, we are planning to line fifteen (15) segments as shown on the map below (streets highlighted in green).

Project includes:
  • Contractor begins the planning, cleaning and televising the sewer lines
  • Engineers design the new liners
  • Structurally line about 5,200' of public sewer around the City
Project Start:  March 9, 2020
Project Completion: June 2020
