The Public Safety Department is Berkley's emergency first responder for police and fire service, including dispatch and animal control. Public Safety Department staff are actively engaged in maintaining Berkley's status as one of the best and safest cities in Michigan. To achieve this goal requires coordination and support from residents as well as the department's staff.
The department is the host for two outstanding community events: The Public Safety Fire Open House and Lids for Kids. These community engagements attract residents of all ages for the purpose of providing information to help everyone live and play safely.
