The City Clerk's Office is responsible for:
- Conducting city, school, state, and federal elections
- Maintaining voter registration files and elections equipment
- Maintaining all public records
- Publishing public notices
- Opening all bids submitted to the City
- Issuing pet and bicycle licenses
- Issuing permits for garage sales

Cheryl Printz
City Clerk
Cheryl Printz was appointed City Clerk effective July 1, 2011. She has a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Wayne State University and a Bachelors of Political Science from the University of Michigan – Dearborn. Prior to coming to the City of Berkley, her professional experience includes working for the City of Mount Clemens, City of Oak Park, Macomb County and the Office of Congressman Dennis Hertel. Cheryl has completed her education module for her Certified Municipal Clerk’s certification and is currently working towards fulfilling the experience component. Professional affiliations include the International Municipal Clerk’s Association, Michigan Association of Municipal Clerks and the Oakland County Clerk’s Association.
